Tbh I don’t really care about doing insane damage, but I like winning more than anything. Max damage and XP game we’re 121,172/2,234, respectively. While I’ve had decent games in Neustrashimy, my winrate is abysmal, 33% (12 games), average xp is 1,321, avg damage is 38k. Now I don’t claim to know all there is about DD play, especially gunboating, but for reference, my avg xp in most destroyers Tiers VI - VIII is about 1,600-1,800 depending on nation and winrate about 62%. Secondly, from my experience you really need to play the Neustrashimy behind another DD, but therein lies the problem: if they get wiped (which they usually do, really quickly) then you’re left hoping the enemy DDs get radared or shoot at something else, because you will always be outspotted otherwise.
Problem is most teammates in this game don’t actually support their teammates ever so that only happens occasionally. But my real question lies in the very nature of gunboat DD play.Īt high tiers most cruisers in this game have radar, no problem, avoid, call for fire. So to the point, how do you correctly play Neustrashimy? Now I know it’s a gunboat first, hybrid second. Let me start by saying that I main cruisers and play DDs occasionally, but they’re not really my shtick.
